Description The Clinical Coding team is a highly skilled team that ensures complete and accurate clinical coding of Trust activity. This activity is used to identify trends in disease patterns locally and nationally. Clinical coding of this information requires attention to detail. Reliable, accurate and up-to-date coding of information is needed to support the running of the Trust, and ‘Payment by Results’. This is achieved by the accurate translation of diagnostic and procedure information contained within the casenotes into predefined codes and entered on to the patient administration system (PAS).
